eZEX is a South Korean company that brings to market a next-generation technology. With integrated C2O (Carbon dioxide-to-Oxygen) Solutions. They strive to improve consumers daily lives by automating appliances, electrical wiring devices, safety & security devices, and enhancing their efficiency.
Ezex developed 'C2O' - a WiFi smart light switch. It is launched on the South Korean market and is based on the ESP8266 microcontroller.
eZex evaluated different possible approaches, including: doing it all from the scratch based on the Espressif SDKs or using an Arduino. But Mongoose OS came as a clear winner: “If we developed the same software with Espressif's SDK or Arduino, it would have taken a very long time.” says Kil-Moo Lee, a lead Software Engineer.
Mongoose OS was selected as it enables an easy integration with variety of IoT Clouds, an out of the box Over-The-Air updates, application data storage, proper HTTP server and networking library implementation, user configuration mechanisms which are a must have for the production devices.
“We chose the Mongoose OS because it is the most appropriate software platform for Espressif's ESP8266 and AWS IoT, which we use to develop smart light switches. In particular, It is very impressive to have all the necessary elements for development through the MOS tool in advance.” continues Kil-Moo Lee.
Mongoose OS allowed for a faster and simpler development for the eZEX and a provided a trusted, field tested & proven performance for their product.
“Finally, I think a reasonable software license fee played a decisive role in choosing Mongoose OS.” we heard from eZEX.
